Caroline is founder and co-chair of Building Dreams. Realizing how fortunate she is to have been born into the safety and security that Canada provides, Caroline was inspired to help women born into less fortunate circumstances. Caroline is a lawyer by day and a traveler and bohemian at heart. She loves to socialize, ski, scuba dive, read, and dance. She also serves on the Board of the Montessori Jewish Day School.
Ofra has always had a passion for African issues. From AIDS prevention to hunger. Building homes for families in need was the next natural step for her. During her downtime from running her fashion business Ofra has co-chaired building dreams since 2013. She also has been serving on the executive committee for free-them where she fights to protect sexually exploited women and children locally and across the world.
Josh has been involved all three years, but officially joined the committee in 2014. Seeing his wife Caroline's fulfilment out of creating this event for such a great cause, it was almost innate to jump on board. Josh is a principled wellness chiropractor, and loves to build things (wood is his favourite material, Lego is 2nd); he's a hobby photographer & runner.
Deborah is eager to lend her time to initiatives that encourage empowerment, sustainable development, and economic independence of women and families, both locally and abroad. Deborah is the VP Leasing & Development at a Canadian real estate development firm operating across the country.
This is Amy's first time being involved in Building Dreams and she is excited to contribute to this worthy cause. Amy is a securities lawyer with an interest in writing and literature, real estate and travelling. Malawi, Africa is on her bucket list of travel destinations.
Viktoryia has been always passionate about empowering women and children locally and across the globe by providing safe homes. She has jumped on board of Building dreams as an art curator in 2013. Viktoryia runs her start-up Branding and Graphic Design studio and also is a part of committee for [free-them] fighting to abolish human slavery in our lifetime. She paints in any spare minute she gets and has contributed her artwork to the art auctions for both causes.
Jessica is passionate about being a part of initiatives that generate awareness of the inequalities that many face. She believes that having shelter is a fundamental human right, and hopes that The Dream Build Fundraiser conveys awareness to this issue. She is a business analyst, and enjoys traveling, music, and outdoor activities.
Julie has been part of the Building Dreams committee since its inception and is looking forward to another successful event! She is a manager in the Valuations/Forensics/Litigation Support Group at Crowe Soberman. Julie enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and giving back to her community. She is also the treasurer of the Dor L’dor chapter of the Canadian Hadassah Wizo organization, which raises funds to support women and children, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Montessori Jewish Day School (MJDS).
In 2014 Miranda encouraged several friends to contribute to a worthy cause by donating artwork. Enjoying the experience so much, she joined the committee in late 2015 as assistant Art Curator and continues to encourage excellent artists to donate and showcase their work for this worthy cause. Miranda is a forensic accountant by day and works for herself - which means she's also a forensic accountant by night. Miranda would love that her next step in her journey with Building Dreams would be to go to Malawi and help build the homes from the funds raised during this amazing event.
